There are three re-openings to look forward to in Ayrshire over the coming weeks as pubs in Ardrossan, Irvine and Millport get ready to open their doors.
The Old Lauriston, part of the Lauriston Hotel in Ardrossan is set to re-open as Laurie’s Sports Bar and Kitchen after closing for a 3 week makeover earlier in June and The Northern Way in Irvine, taken over by Amber Taverns in June, opens on 30 June after a £500,000 refurbishment. The Irvine bar becomes the groups fifth venue in Scotland and the second in Ayrshire, after The Standing Man in Kilmarnock.
Finally, The Twa Dugs in Millport, closed since the pandemic is also due to open its doors in time for the summer holidays. It too, has undergone a renovation and faces an unusual staffing problem – it needs staff based on the Island and who can work in the bar after the last ferry has left for the night.
