Vodka Wodka is expanding and opening a new venue in Merchant Square next month, in time for the surge of new freshers looking for that first taste of Glaswegian nightlife.
After launching in Paisley in the 1990’s Vodka Wodka opened in Glasgow’s Ashton Lane in 2001 going on to become one of the best-known bars in the city’s West End, along with Ashton Lane neighbours Jinty McGuinty’s and Brel. The new venue, Vodka Wodka Merchant Square in Candleriggs, which was formerly the Beer Café, is promising that the party brand will bring its “lively atmosphere and buzzing late night vibe” to the new venue.
Open 7 days a week from 12pm until late, it is not only serving its classic range of cocktails and spirits, but it will include Jolly Rancher and the 1L sharing shot bottle, Kamikaze – two drinks offerings that have been on the menu since the beginning of Vodka Wodka back in the 1990’s.
Fraser McIlwraith, the brands founding director, said, “Vodka Wodka has gone from strength to strength over the years and the decision to expand is something we have considered for a long time. We are confident that we have not only found a great location that embodies what Vodka Wodka truly is, but we know that we have also perfected the business model and can replicate the brand successfully in a new area.”
