Winton Brewery is set to open its third venue next week with the launch of a new bar on Portobello High Street. The Rusty Seagull will take over the former Porty Vaults taproom, which was previously operated by Vault City before its closure in late 2024.

The brewery, based in East Lothian, announced it had concluded the deal for the site earlier this summer and confirmed the new venue is scheduled to open next week (15 September).

The bar will serve Winton’s own beers, including its Peelywally IPA and Oh Ya Bassa! sour, alongside a range of artisan spirits and cocktails. Plans for the venue also include live music and street food, with a focus on creating a sociable, community-driven space. The brewery said in a statement, “Expect hybrid craft and classic beers and artisan spirits and cocktails, with live music, mouthwatering street food, and great craic!”

Winton Brewery also operates The Haddy Tap in Pencaitland and The Station Yard micropub in Dunbar.
