Independent bottler Stravaig Spirits, based in Edinburgh and trading under the Tri Carragh label, has picked up six medals at the 2025 Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB). The news comes as the company releases its latest trio of single cask bottlings, including a 30-year-old Braes of Glenlivet.

At this year’s CMB competition, held in Jalisco, Mexico, Tri Carragh was awarded two Grand Golds, three Golds and one Silver. Its Lowland bottling, Dalrymple 10 year-old, was named ‘Revelation Scotch Whisky’, the top-performing Scotch entry in the judging.

Also receiving a Grand Gold was the Ardmore 11 year-old, matured in a second-fill ex-Laphroaig bourbon barrel. It features in the newly released Release 08 collection, alongside two other single cask whiskies.

Gold Medals went to Inchgower 16 year-old, a 1st fill bourbon barrel, Craigellachie 11 year-old, a 1st fill Palo Cortado sherry barrique, and Tamnavulin 12 year-old,  a 1st fill Pedro Ximenez hogshead. A Silver was awarded to Strathclyde 30 year-old, a single grain whisky drawn from a 1st fill bourbon barrel.

These results follow continued recognition across the international awards circuit, including 12 medals from the IWSC since 2023, three Golds and two category winners at this year’s World Whisky Awards, and a Silver at the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition in May.

Release 08 brings together the Ardmore 11 year-old, along with Braes of Glenlivet 30 year-old, a refill bourbon barrel, and Linkwood 13 year-old,  finished for 29 months in a Pedro Ximenez hogshead following initial maturation in refill bourbon.

Describing the Braes of Glenlivet bottling, Tri Carragh co-founder Ryan McCafferty said, “A nose you could enjoy all day — toffee apples, vanilla fudge, red apples, strawberries, sugar icing… the list goes on. It’s bursting with sweetness that keeps you coming back. Neat, expect flavours of fruit cake, gentle spices, and creamy complexity. Add water and the whisky opens beautifully, amplifying ripe fruit and estery notes. Water softens the spice on the palate, letting the strawberry and icing notes shine. Absolutely delicious!”

All three expressions in Release 08 are bottled at natural cask strength and are non-chill filtered. They will be available through select specialist retailers and Tri Carragh’s trade partners from October 2025.
