A West Lothian hospitality group has opened its first Glasgow venue – Café Bar 1780 – in Prince’s Square.
The new city centre site is latest in a growing portfolio from the team behind Café Bar 1807 in Linlithgow, Café Bar 1912 in Bathgate, Café Bar 1962 in Livingston, and Café Bar 1838 in the North East of England, which are underpinned by a family operation originally founded by Bathgate award-winning butcher David Stein, whose high-quality local sourcing continues to shape the brand’s food-led ethos.
The Glasgow opening sees David Stein partner with business managers Kieran Conner and Callum Marshall, who take on Managing Partner roles at the all-day dining 1780, which describes itself as being about “quality without the fuss – simple things done well, in a space that feels good to be in.”
In a statement the company say that Café Bar 1780 will offer “brunches that make mornings better, relaxed lunches, unforgettable date nights, Sunday roasts piled high, handcrafted cocktails, and live music to set the vibe” which are all backed by “our very own award-winning butcher, we’re proud to serve the best of local produce, cooked and poured with passion”.
The venue will also host live music from local performers each weekend – a hallmark of its sister venues.
