A major new hospitality and leisure venue is preparing to open its doors in Irvine town centre this month, following a reported £1.5 million refurbishment of the former M&Co store on Bridgegate. The development represents a significant investment in Irvine’s town centre regeneration.
Bar 10, led by local owners Alex Harper and Rosemary Reid, will bring ten-pin bowling, virtual golf, karaoke and food and drink together under one roof, with plans already in place to add a pool and snooker hall on the upper floor next year. The venue, which has been almost 18 months in the making, is expected to create around 20 jobs and will be operated by Rosemary’s daughter, Kay Abercrombie.
The couple are no strangers to Irvine’s hospitality scene, having previously run the R&A Sports Bar on the town’s High Street. That venue was later taken over by Amber Taverns and relaunched earlier this year as The Northern Way following a separate refurbishment.
