Glencadam Distillery has introduced a new identity across its core range, following its 200th anniversary and the recent launch of its first visitor centre in Brechin.

The updated packaging is rolling out initially across four expressions – the 10 Year Old, 15 Year Old, Reserva PX, and a new 17 Year Old Réserve de Calvados – with the rest of the portfolio to follow in the coming weeks. While the whisky itself remains unchanged, the revised design is aimed at reinforcing Glencadam’s premium positioning in international markets and supporting clearer shelf standout at retail.

The packaging includes simplified product labelling with cask details and tasting notes, as well as new visual elements that reference the distillery’s history, including an embossed waterwheel motif and illustrations of the original 1825 site. Edinburgh-based illustrator Andrew Davidson was commissioned to produce the imagery.

The new 17 Year Old Réserve de Calvados, crafted by Master Blender Iain Forteath, is a limited release of 6,360 bottles. Matured initially in ex-bourbon American oak before finishing in Calvados casks from Normandy, the expression is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and natural in colour. It is the first time Glencadam has used Calvados casks in its maturation programme.

The full range update and visitor centre launch are part of Glencadam’s broader brand investment strategy following its bicentenary. Owned by Angus Dundee Distillers, the East Highland site continues to operate with traditional methods, including open mashing and worm tub condensers.

Stockists and trade buyers can expect the updated packaging to be available through existing distribution channels by early Q2.
