Irish pub-themed operator Katie O’Brien’s is planning to launch its first Scottish venue in Glasgow after securing approval to amend the premises licence for the former Bar Soba site in the Merchant City.
As the operator prepares to take over the Merchant Square venue, it has been reported that the project could involve around £400,000 of investment and create roughly 40 jobs once it opens, with the business also said to be considering further expansion in Scotland.
The brand currently operates around 10 sites in England, including venues in Newcastle, Birmingham, York and Leeds, and markets itself around live sport and live music.
