CALEDONIAN Best treated licensees and pub owners to a golf day with Sam Torrance at Championship golf course, Archerfield Links recently. The day in North Berwick was attended by over 60 licensed trade golfers from all over Scotland.

Golfers played for individual and team prizes, and longest drive, before pipping themselves against the Ryder Cup Hero and former winning Captain for a nearest the pin challenge.

Speaking to the Dram at the lunch after a hard day on the golf course, Don Stewart of the Old Masons Arms in Forfar said it had been a great day.

He added, “We shot an 85 and thought we were in with a shout. It’s a great course and a great day out, it’s good to meet other licensees and publicans.”

Fraser Wilson of Dram tried his hand at the course and said, “It was an amazing day and a great course to play. It was well organised and a great chance for those in the trade to get together, talk shop and pip themselves against each other.”
