Edinburgh restaurant Lucky Yu has been added to the Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland.
The Broughton Street restaurant, which opened in 2018, is listed in the guide under ‘Asian Influences’, with Michelin describing it as a “buzzing little bistro” serving Asian-inspired sharing plates including fried chicken karaage, ‘Dirty Rice’ and apple pie gyozas.
Lucky Yu is owned and operated by The Òir Group, the Edinburgh-based independent hospitality group behind Bodega on Leith Walk, Uncle Tiger on Bristo Place and The Captain Darling in Stockbridge.
John Howard, owner and director of The Òir Group, said, “After more than a decade running and developing restaurants, this is really significant milestone for The Òir Group and for Lucky Yu.
“Earning our place in the Michelin Guide is a huge achievement and testament to the hard work and commitment of the entire Lucky Yu team. Over the last few years, the kitchen and menu development has been led by head chef Hearty Derlet with support from Filip Bobrowski.
“We’d also like to thank all our customers and suppliers for their continued support over the last six years.”
The Michelin Guide currently lists 37 restaurants in Edinburgh, including Lucky Yu, Noto, Timberyard, The Little Chartroom, The Scran & Scallie and The Palmerston.
