Wee Buddha has recently opened for business on the site of the former Iglu on Jamaica Street in Edinburgh. It serves Asian-infused tapas style food and a wide selection of international beers. The restaurant has 60 covers, over two floors, and is the first pub/kitchen venture by owner Ken Chan, who previously ran his own self-catering business. The interior has also been refurbished. Iglu originally had a bar on each floor, but the new owners have removed the upstairs bar and replaced it with a kitchen extension. The furniture on both floors has been re-upholstered. Owner Ken Chan says, “I’ve worked my way up from Chinese takeaways to restaurants, and now my own restaurant bistro. I chose the items on the ‘wee hings’ menu because they are dishes that I would like to eat if I was out for a drink in Hong Kong or anywhere in the Far East.”
