SPL opening games will be exclusively on Sky Sports

The opening games of the new season of the SPL will be on Sky Sports exclusively.

The first weekend of August marks the start of the Scottish football season, and Sky Sports has negotiated the rights for Rangers v Hamilton Academical on 6 August and Heart of Midlothian v Celtic on Sunday 7th August.

Sky Sports has the rights for 30 exclusively live matches from the SPFL, including up to four Celtic v Rangers league games, only available to pubs with Sky Sports.

Mark Warburton’s Rangers will host Hamilton Academical on the opening day of the season on August 6th, followed by Brendan Rodgers’ first competitive game in charge of Celtic the following day as his side travel to Edinburgh to face Hearts.

Sky Sports is also will also bring viewers in pubs exclusively live games from the William Hill Scottish Cup.
