Edinburgh’s Kyloe Restaurant & Grill has been named the regional winner for Scotland in the Best British Roast Dinner competition.
The restaurant, famous for its steak, was a hit during British Roast Dinner Week. A judging panel, including food critic Charles Campion, was impressed by Kyloe’s locally sourced and “perfectly cooked” prime roast fillet of beef, which is carved at the table.
The Edinburgh restaurant was the only eatery north of the border to be shortlisted in the annual competition held 26th September – 2nd October.
Restaurant Manager, Steven Simpson, said, “We are so honoured to have received this credible award – to be noticed by professionals it makes all of our hard work and efforts worth it!”
Sadly, the Scottish restaurant was pipped to the post by Bunch of Grapes pub in Wales, which was announced the overall national winner on Sunday 2 October 2016, as British Roast Dinner Week came to a close.
Chris Brown, channel trade marketing manager at Unilever Food Solutions, said, “Kyloe Restaurant can be extremely proud of winning the regional title – and its regulars can be proud to say they their local boasts one of the best pub roasts in the country.”
