Following on from their successful Fringe By The Sea collaboration, Dunbar’s historic Belhaven Brewery has announced a new event series with their Archerfield neighbours: the Belhaven x Archerfield Winter Sessions.

Taking place on Thursday 24th November and Thursday 1st December, these two intimate events will see Belhaven’s brewery team join forces with Dave Jamieson, Executive Chef at East Lothian’s prestigious Archerfield to offer an intimate evening of perfectly paired beer and food, in the magical wintry setting of Scotland’s oldest continuously working brewery.

Guests will be welcomed to Belhaven where they will firstly enjoy a winter walk through 300 years of brewing history as beers and hot roasted chestnuts are served in the courtyard.

Then it’s up to the brewery’s Monks Retreat bar to enjoy an exclusive tasting experience: four refreshing Belhaven beers, each featuring a different style and flavour, perfectly paired with four plates of delicious food from Archerfield’s new winter menu.

Diners can expect seasonal flavours and local ingredients, all enhanced by innovative beer pairings – with plenty of time to talk to the team about all things beer along the way.

On Thursday 24th November, there will be a Scottish theme to celebrate St Andrews Day and on Thursday 1st December, as the countdown to Christmas begins, the pairing menu will be packed with festive flavours.

Belhaven Brand Manager Fiona Mathieson said: ‘We had such a great time working with Dave on our sold-out Food Pairing Masterclasses earlier in the summer that we couldn’t resist doing it all over again. The Winter Sessions will make the most of the dark nights, with twinkling lights, festive touches, amazing food, great company and – of course – a taste of Belhaven’s award-winning range of Scottish beers. It will be a real celebration of the best flavours of East Lothian, and the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends and try something different. We can’t wait to welcome our guests to the brewery!’

Dave Jamieson agreed. ‘If you think beer is only for the BBQ, get ready to think again! As Executive Chef at Archerfield House, working with seasonal, local flavours is my biggest joy. I’m thrilled to be able to pair aspects of our new menu with Belhaven’s beers to celebrate the wonderful local produce that surrounds us and the season ahead. It’s going to be a lot of fun!’
