Maki & Ramen is expected to open a new restaurant in Glasgow at the end of the month at the site of the former E-sushi restaurant on Byres Road.

This will be the third Glasgow restaurant, reported to be its first franchise,  joining its sister venues in Bath Street and Renfield Street, and its seventh in Scotland for the the Japanese-themed restaurant chain. The ten-year-old brand which was launched by founder Teddy Lee in Edinburgh in 2015 after studying in a sushi academy in Tokyo, now has four venues in Edinburgh and is opening in Aberdeen’s Union Square soon bringing its Scottish stable to eight. It also has restaurants in Leeds and Manchester with Birmingham to follow.

Raki & Ramen say that the objective it simple “to provide delicious, accessible, and high-quality Asian food to all our guests. We believe we can get there, one bowl, or one sushi plate at a time.”

The menu promises the true taste of Japan with “perfectly crafted sushi, Sake and warm hearty bowls of ramen” and is expected to offer takeaway through Deliveroo or directly from the restaurant.
