MacDuff International Scotch Whisky Limited and InchDairnie Distillery Limited have today (1st May) confirmed their merger to form a single entity—InchDairnie Whisky Limited.

In a statement, the newly formed company said the merger unlocks a range of strategic benefits as it enters its next phase of growth. By consolidating operations under one business, customers and distributors will benefit from a streamlined experience and clearer communication, all while bringing the group behind a single, long-term vision.

Now in its tenth year, InchDairnie Distillery was founded by industry veteran Ian Palmer, with the first spirit running from the stills in December 2015. Since then, it has built a reputation for pioneering precision distilling—blending science, technology and natural ingredients with a portfolio, firmly rooted in Fife’s provenance.

Established in 1992, MacDuff International was founded by Charles Murray, Stewart MacDuff and Edward Thomson, and is a leading independent Scotch whisky company. It produces a range of premium whisky brands, including the heritage labels Islay Mist and Lauder’s. The company has also responsible for the distribution of InchDairnie’s award-winning Scottish Rye Whisky, RyeLaw, and is preparing for the launch of the distillery’s inaugural single malt signature bottling, KinGlassie.

Graham Glen, Managing Director (Commercial) and Scott Sneddon, Managing Director (Distilling) will jointly lead InchDairnie Whisky Limited. They are joined on the Board by Ian Palmer as Chairman, David Sloan as Vice-Chairman, Lesley Ramage as Operations Director and Jim Campbell as Finance Director.

Graham Glen, Managing Director (Commercial) said, “The formation of InchDairnie Whisky Limited is the natural next step in our journey.

“We believe that working as one business, with one team and one clear vision, sets us up for long-term success across all areas of our operation. While the MacDuff name will be retired from active use, it will forever remain a proud part of the group’s legacy, that we look forward to building upon in this next chapter.

“Islay Mist, Lauder’s and Waterproof, together with RyeLaw and KinGlassie, with more InchDairnie brands launching over the next four years, makes for an amazing portfolio of whisky brands to excite the whisky enthusiast.”

Scott Sneddon, Managing Director (Distilling) said, “This is more than just a name change. It’s a statement – about who we are, how we work together, and what we want to achieve as a modern, ambitious whisky business. It comes at an exciting time for the business too, as we plan to launch our inaugural single malt signature bottling, KinGlassie”.

InchDairnie Whisky Limited will continue to offer bulk mature whisky & cask sales, new make supply, InchDairnie Cask Club membership, and warehousing for customers.

The company has also confirmed that the current office locations in both Glasgow and Glenrothes, Fife will be retained.
