Sri Lankan food brand KOCHCHI is set to open its first standalone restaurant and bar in Glasgow’s West End, with doors officially opening on Thursday 29 January 2026.

The business, which first launched at Edinburgh’s Bonnie & Wild as a street food kitchen, has grown into one of Scotland’s most recognised Sri Lankan food brands. It was founded by Shehan Fernando and Suki Jayaratne, friends who grew up in different parts of Sri Lanka but shared a connection to the food culture of Colombo, the country’s capital. The menu at KOCHCHI Glasgow reflects that history, using traditional techniques and regional flavours, with dishes designed for sharing.

The new site represents an investment of £500,000 and will offer an expanded food and drink menu across two floors, with seating for 80 covers and an outdoor area. A dedicated bar will serve a Sri Lankan-inspired drinks list, including cocktails, craft beer and non-alcoholic options.
