Uncle Bob’s Cycle, the annual fundraising ride set up by Bob Taylor which returns on 9th June this year, has announced a new charity partnership ahead of the event.

Hospitality Health, the Scottish charity dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of those working in the hospitality and tourism industry, has been named as the official charity partner for 2026.

Speaking at the first planning meeting, held at Manorview’s Bowfield Hotel & Spa, founder Bob Taylor said, “We are delighted to support Gordon and the team at Hospitality Health. The work they do in raising the need for wellbeing in the industry is so important — and sadly, required more now than ever before.”

Gordon, from Hospitality Health, added, “This is brilliant news. We are delighted to have the support of Bob, Steve, Michaele, Robert and all the cyclists taking part this year. It is a perfect fit for what we are trying to do at Hospitality Health. A fit body is a fit mind — and there is nothing better than catching up with friends and heading out on the bike for exercise and fresh air.”

This year, Bob has handed the organisational reins to Steve Graham of Manorview, Michele Pagliocca of Monteleone Group, with Robert Campbell taking on the role of Director of Sport — and chief supporter in the Broom Wagon. The trio said,”We are excited to support Bob and take on the organisational responsibility. It also felt like the right time to find a new charity partner, and since cycling gets you outdoors, keeps you fit and is good for the mindset, Hospitality Health is a perfect cause for us to champion.”

Founded in 2018, Hospitality Health was established to change the way the industry thinks about mental health. The charity supports businesses through its Wellness Charter award, which recognises employers who are actively putting the right steps and mechanisms in place to support the mental and emotional wellbeing of their teams. It also fully funds staff to attend nationally recognised Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) certificated training, and works to provide employers with the tools and skills to drive positive change, reducing stigma and ensuring staff have access to the support they need.

The route will begin with an informal breakfast at Manorview’s Bowfield Hotel & Spa in Howwood, before heading through Ayrshire towards Ardrossan and Largs, then looping back to finish at Bowfield.

You don’t need to be an elite cyclist to take part — riders of all ages and abilities are already signed up and raising sponsorship for Hospitality Health. The more the merrier, so whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or dusting off the bike for the first time in years, all are welcome.
