The judges said of the winner, “What energy this guy has. He is professional through and through and looks the part. He has managed to grow his pub’s revenue by 10% over the last year, and believes that the time that he spends with staff helps this. He is a firm believer that you lead by example but also believes that you must invest time in your staff to ensure your customers get the best service possible. He also takes great pleasure in the fact that quite a few of his assistant managers have gone on to have their own pubs.”
