Family run brand Glenfiddich has appointed appointed Dundee-born Mark Thomson as its new UK Brand Ambassador. Mark will be the face of the brand in the UK with immediate effect. In his role he will host consumer and trade events across the country. Mark has worked in the drinks industry for 14 year with his past experience including organising educational training programmes for on and off-trade outlets and hosting masterclasses and tasting events for a number of major whisky brands. He has previously worked with Glenfiddich on projects like its Malt Mastermind bartender competition – where he was a judge in 2013 and 2014. Mark comments, “I am thrilled to be the latest addition to the Glenfiddich team. I have always loved the brand since my grandfather introduced me to it many years ago and it’s an honour to be joining the team. There are exciting things going on in the whisky category at the moment, so it’s a great time to join Glenfiddich and help further cement its status in the UK. We have some very interesting new projects in the pipeline and I’m really looking forward to bringing these to life over the coming months.”
