Jim Grierson retires as Maxxium UK unveils new structure

Maxxium UK has revealed it has restructured its business with a new ‘Simpler, Faster, Better’ approach being adopted which includes shaping its organisation to accelerate its leadership in whiskies and cognac and deliver an intensified focus on major UK cities. The news comes as Jim Grierson, Sales Director On-Trade, retires. Jim who has been with the company for three decades is succeeded by Andrew Morrison.

Morrison will also oversee the company’s route to market channel and field sales outside of London. In the new structure, the wholesale and cash & carry teams will combine into one, with additional focus and resource given to the multiple pub group channel to unlock further growth.

There are also a number of other management changes to the executive team with Marketing Director Peter Sandström heading up a new London division as General Manager. The company’s new Marketing Director is Gareth Brown who joins Maxxium UK from Beam Suntory,

Managing Director, Mark Riley says, “This is an exciting time for Maxxium as we embark on the next phase of business growth. We are investing to develop identified opportunities to secure growth in premium spirits. Our new structure aligns our business with those opportunities and will allow us to work with our customers to develop effective plans.”

Jim leaves many ground-breaking achievements, including MIXXIT® and an industry leading field sales team, where his legacy will support business growth for many years to come.
