UK pub operator Punch Taverns welcomed a record number of Scottish publicans to its Scottish Punch Roadshow in Edinburgh on 27th September.

Over 300 licensees attended the Scottish leg of Punch’s UK-wide roadshow event, including 53% of representatives from the Punch pubs in Scotland.

The event featured 74 suppliers including Scottish brands BrewDog, Diageo and William Bros. Publicans also had the opportunity to speak to members of the Punch team to gain advice on how they can increase their sales and cut costs.

In addition to meeting the Punch team, attendees also had a chance to challenge the Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan from ITV’s popular reality game show, TheChase, and 50 brave people tested previous BDO world champion, Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams, at darts.

Brian Davidson, Punch Operations Director for Scotland, said, “We’re delighted with how well our Edinburgh Roadshow went. The uptake and enthusiasm was really impressive.”

Punch operates 230 sites across Scotland and has committed to investing £3m in the nation’s pubs. The company recently completed five investments across the Central Belt, including with The Kirkhill Bar in Cambuslang, which received a £120k refurbishment to revitalise the venue.

Over 8,000 people attended the 2015 Punch UK-wide roadshows, including 1,942 Punch publicans.
