Taisteal replaces Field Grill House in Stockbridge

Following a full renovation, the Field Grill House on Raeburn Place in Stockbridge, Edinburgh has now reopened as Taisteal, a new, independent venture from Michelin-trained chef Gordon Craig.

Craig is one of the co-founders of Field Grill House. On his decision to branch out on his own, he said, “I wanted to open a restaurant that is more to my style and incorporates all the training I have had in Michelin-starred restaurants.

“After opening a grill with my business partners I realised that it’s not the kind of restaurant I want to work in.

“So I bought them out and am very excited to be opening my first independent restaurant in Stockbridge, with the great staff I have.”

Taisteal, meaning journey or to travel in Gaelic, will serve dishes using local Scottish produce combined with worldwide elements, inspired by Craig’s own travels abroad and recipes from around the world.

The design will be modern and paired back, with artwork featuring markets from across the globe including Stockbridge.
