VisitScotland in partnership with the national tourist organisations of Visit England, Britain, Northern Ireland, and Wales has launched a UK-wide industry standard and consumer mark called ‘We’re Good To Go’ to provide a ‘ring of confidence’ for tourism which is free to join and open to all businesses across the industry. The AA launched one last week called ‘COVID CONFIDENT’ which is is also free.
The ‘We’re Good To Go’ industry standard and supporting mark mean businesses across all sectors of the tourism industry in Scotland can demonstrate that they’re adhering to the respective government and public health guidance, and have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment to check they have the required processes and protocols in place.
The free scheme complements the guidance already issued by the Scottish Government to help tourism businesses plan to reopen.
To obtain the mark you must complete a self-assessment through an online platform – http://www.goodtogoscotland.com – including a checklist confirming you have put the necessary processes in place. Once complete, businesses will receive certification and access to the ‘We’re Good To Go’ mark to display in premise and online.
It follows the launch of AA COVID CONFIDENT accreditation which aims to reassure customers of the Covid-19 precautions that hospitality venues have undertaken. The AA COVID CONFIDENT accreditation, which is also free, indicates to customers that an establishment has in place the necessary risk assessments, safety measures and staff training, in line with the Government and UKHospitality’s published guidelines. The AA provides all those awarded a COVID CONFIDENT mark with regular updates on the latest Government guidelines, Health & Safety Executive Guidelines, and best practice. Establishments with an AA COVID CONFIDENT mark will be listed on the AA’s consumer-facing RatedTrips.com website Establishments can apply via https://www.ratedtrips.com/aa-covid-confident and must meet the AA’s criteria.
