Glasgow’s Viva Italia Group has submitted plans to Glasgow City Council to convert the former Zizzi at 31 Royal Exchange Square, that includes a historic A-listed building in the central square, into a 232-capacity restaurant.
Viva Italia operates Toni Macaroni and Mozza in Glasgow and Nardini’s in Largs.
The proposed new venue will have space for 156 diners, with an expanded upper mezzanine set to provide space for a further 76 seats.
The application states the intention to ‘reopen former Zizzi restaurant in Royal Exchange Square as a new Italian restaurant, creating some addition customer space with formation of a small mezzanine floor above existing kitchen/server area.’
