Ballantine’s has unveiled Ballantine’s Wild, to add to its growing range of flavoured expressions. The new spirit drink is made from its bespoke blend of Scotch whisky and sweet cherry flavours and follows Ballantine’s Brasil and Ballantine’s Passion. It has been launched in Poland, where Ballantine’s is the number one whisky brand and it will see a wider rollout across multiple markets and channels later in the year.
Bottled at 30% ABV, Ballantine’s Wild is set to meet the growing demand for flavours as consumers seek more choice for drinking occasions and the new blend aims to attract a new generation of whisky fans as well as appeal to existing Scotch drinkers.
Ballantine’s Wild has been crafted by a team of experts led by Ballantine’s Master Blender Sandy Hyslop, after months of experimentation with different whisky bases and additional flavours. The result is a free-spirited blend with flavours of succulent ripe cherry to add a sweeter side, while still retaining the signature flavour notes of the Ballantine’s house style.
Sandy Hyslop, Ballantine’s Master Blender, commented, “Since 1827, we have been innovating and breaking conventional codes of whisky, and Ballantine’s Wild is no exception. Flavours have been doing exceptionally well in Poland and we wanted to continue to offer even more variety, this time with our first dark fruit expression. With Ballantine’s Wild we have taken Ballantine’s signature smoothness and crafted a bespoke new flavoured spirit drink complimented by a distinct taste that bursts with wild cherry sweetness, to add to our popular range.”
