Bothwell House sets opening date and reveals new menu

Bothwell House, the new stand alone 300 cover restaurant, destination bar and events space will officially open its doors on Friday, 30th September and bookings are now live.  The venue, in Glasgow’s city centre was previously home to Grill on the Corner.

Announcing its menu this week, Bothwell House describes it as “blending Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine with Scottish influences”.  The kitchen team is lead by head chef Gary Duncan.

The menu includes a rich, beef cheek and shallot pie with a handmade savoury herb crumb top, whole vegetarians can enjoy Marrakesh curry, a dish packed full of seasonal vegetables and slow-cooked with ginger and mustard seeds that are served with jewelled rice and toasted flatbread to scoop up all those flavours.

Seafood is locally sourced from Scottish fishmongers and everything from hand-dived scallops, trout to mackerel featuring on their menus. There is also a selection of premium meats including locally-sourced Scottish steaks, and house-made Greek style lamb kofta kebab and Turkish mushroom shawarma.

Meanwhile, inventive drinks have been carefully crafted by bar manager John Russell, previously head bartender at Blue Dog, and his talented team of bartenders. They are offering an “elevated selection of punchy signature cocktails, classic serves and no and low mocktails and refreshments”. There is an impressive selection ranging from martini, daiquiri and whisky favourites, alongside local craft beers, bespoke wines and independent Scottish spirits.
