CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide – the UK’s best-selling beer and pub guide which is celebrates its 50th anniversary this year – has found 66 new pubs in Scotland to add to it recommendations. The first edition, published in 1972, featured around 1,500 pubs and 105 brewing companies. Today it surveys 4500 pubs and over 1800 breweries, with a total of around 308 in Scotland.

Compiled by thousands of independent volunteers, it helps identify significant trends and themes across the pub sector. CAMRA explain that it “highlights pubs selected by CAMRA members as places to savour good beers from small breweries as well as cask-conditioned lagers and world beers and some pubs are highlighted for serving real ciders too.”
