The Printing Press Bar & Kitchen at InterContinental Edinburgh The George closed its doors yesterday (19 March) as the hotel prepares to reveal ‘exciting’ plans for a new restaurant.

The hotel said in a statement “InterContinental Edinburgh The George would like to thank those diners who have supported The Printing Press Bar & Kitchen over the years and the team for their continued efforts as the hotel prepares to announce exciting news regarding the restaurant space. All current team members will remain in their roles ahead of the new opening later this year.

“InterContinental Edinburgh The George is in advanced talks with a globally renowned operator to occupy the hotel’s dining room with more details to be announced in due course.

“For guests of the hotel who wish to dine during their stay, Burr & Co., the hotel’s resident coffee shop and the magnificent King’s Hall will be open in the evenings serving a bistro-style dinner menu. Breakfast will also temporarily be hosted in the King’s Hall while renovations take place.

InterContinental Edinburgh The George General Manager, Michael Martin, said “We wanted to take this opportunity to thank our brilliant team and those who have supported The Printing Press Bar & Kitchen over the past eight years. We have some very exciting news to share in the coming weeks that the team and I are busy working on.
