St Giles Café & Bar, in Edinburghs Old Town is up for sale as a going concern for offers over £1.28m. It can be purchased on either a freehold or leasehold basis. The leasehold is £250k or there is an option for leasehold with annual rent. It is being marketed by Christie & Co.

Located close to the Royal Mile’s junction with High Street and Lawnmarket and originally established as Café Florentin the business has been on the same site for decades.

The ground floor has table seating, and window benches with space for approximately 36 guests. The basement houses storage areas, a walk-in fridge, staff spaces, and customer restrooms. The café bar also offers 14 outdoor seating covers.

Gary Witham, Director Hotels Scotland at Christie & Co, who is handling the sale, said, “This is a rare opportunity to buy a freehold just off the Royal Mile – arguably the strongest tourist location in Edinburgh.  Guaranteed year round footfall and the ability to create a trend setting bar / cafe with limited competition so close to Edinburgh Castle will certainly appeal to both UK and overseas buyers.”
