Edinburgh Street Food has teamed up Edinburgh sour beer producer Vault City in a 12 week partnership. The Portobello brewer will be serving sour beers on draught, poured from it’s newly converted 1960s ice-cream van, dubbed the “Vault Wagon”, until the end of July.
Since opening at the end of February this year, Edinburgh Street Food has welcomed over 108,000 customers – almost 20% of Edinburgh’s population – through its doors.
Andrew Marshall, co-founder of Edinburgh Street Food says, “We’re dedicated to solely supporting independent Scottish breweries and are thrilled to add Vault City to our offering.
“This innovative Edinburgh based brewer has reimagined sour beer for a new generation and we’re delighted to have them join us for the summer; their beer is the perfect pairing for a sunny day.”
Independent brewer, Vault City started in 2018 with just a team of 3 and has since grown to over 25 people. After a successful crowdfunding campaign, they opened the Porty Vault Taproom and Smokehouse in Portobello, complementing their Wee Vault Tasting Room and Bottle Shop in Haymarket. The newest addition to their portfolio, the Vault Wagon, is a colourful, converted ice-cream van that will pour sour beers and slushies throughout the summer at ESF.
“Edinburgh Street Food is a foodie’s paradise. We’re joining a long list of world class traders and it’s a huge honour for us to be part of it” says Steven Smith-Hay, co-founder of Vault City.
“Our drinks push the boundaries of what people would typically expect from a beer, and our core range of Strawberry Sundae, Cloudy Lemonade and Triple Fruited Mango are all great examples of this – packed full of real fruit and incredibly refreshing on a summer’s day.
“We’re currently pouring the last remaining kegs of our Iron Brew sour and, given the weather, in typical Vault City fashion it’s available as a soft serve sour beer slushie, exclusive to Edinburgh Street Food”.
