The Lochside in Bowmore is gearing up for Fèis Ìle festival which starts this weekend on the Island (Friday 26 May) with a schedule of live music, whisky cocktails and bar takeovers.
The 12-bedroom inn, which has a whisky bar featuring over 300 bottles and a restaurant overlooking Loch Indaal, will kick things off this Friday with live music before hosting Elixir Distillers’ first bar takeover on Thursday 1 June.
The event will see the team at Elixir Distillers, which is building Portintruan Distillery near Port Ellen take over the snug bar at The Lochside and offer whisky cocktails featuring its Elements of Islay whiskies as well as drams of the Elements of Islay range and its limited edition Fèis release, Beach Bonfire.
Neil Morrison, MD of The Rocks Leisure Group and owner of The Lochside, said, “We’ve got a great line-up for this year’s Fèis Ìle, and to be hosting Elixir Distillers’ first bar takeover at The Lochside is the cherry on top.
“We’ve got an incredible range of whisky at The Lochside – from cracking core drams to rare one-offs; and the bar takeover on 1 June will just bring another dimension. Add in our brilliant live music line-up and it’s going to be a cracker!”
