The busy Wetherspoon pub, the Sir John Moore pub on Argyle Street in Glasgow, is set to undergo a £1.4m refurbishment creating 40 new jobs.
Wetherspoon is developing two former shops next door to create a much larger customer area, as well as upgrading the bar and installing new toilets. Although work started this week, the pub wont’t close until the beginning of August before re-opening early in October.
JD Wetherspoon area manager, Stewart Dumbreck, said, “The Sir John Moore is an extremely popular pub. This investment highlights our commitment to offering our customers the best possible pub. We are also pleased to be creating 40 new jobs.”
