Soho House has announced that it will no longer be opening at the former Parish Council Chambers and Collectors Hall in Glasgow’s Love Loan Development in the city centre in 2024.
In a letter to members the private members club has said that space limitations, including the inability to add a gym within the premises, has meant that it could not meet the requirements that their members would expect.
Despite this, Soho House say that they remain committed to opening in Scotland and in Glasgow and that the group is “continuing to explore potential options to ensure we find a suitable location“.
The new day-to-evening Love Loan development in the George Street Complex has recently seen the opening of several venues including Flight Club, Hazel and the AC by Marriott Hotel. A spokesperson for developer Chris Stewart Group has said that they will now progress other conversations for the Parish Council Chambers and Collectors Hall after “significant interest from national and international brands”.
