After teasing an opening last year, Firewater Dundee is set to open this month. Located in the old Industry nightclub unit on Seagate, the brand, which was one of the first Glasgow venues to offer the Living Wage, are looking forward to bringing their ‘Real Music, Hard Liquor’ slogan to the east.

The venue has a capacity of 740, nearly double the size of its sister venue in Glasgow and will have a ground floor bar, a basement nightclub and even a mezzanine level that will house their DJ box and a small area that can be used for private functions for up to 20 people.

Co-owner, Lisa Macdonald, says, “The building has been fully refurbished. It’s been a big project, but we’ve installed some great features like a disco ball wall in basement and a disco ball ceiling on the ground floor.

“Everybody knows Firewater as an iconic brand as Firewater Glasgow has been open since 2001. We are so excited to be expanding and coming to Dundee. Everyone has been so nice, and the other local business have been really supportive. The feedback from potential customers has also been great and we’ve had lots of messages on our socials to find out when we’re opening.

“Everyone is welcome and we’re hoping to get a really mixed crowd in. It’ll be great to show people the brand-new club and to get open 7 nights a week doing what we do best.”
