Holyrood Distillery is offering members of the public the chance to buy a cask of whisky for the last time this week when two expressions will be available from the urban distillery. All previous cask ranges sold out and these final casks have been specially selected by Distillery Manager, Calum Rae, to showcase the full range of the malts used in the past at Holyrood.

He said, “This is the final chance to be part of our cask programme journey. We’ve created two new recipes to complement our existing portfolio.” Recipe one Recipe one takes their Golden Promise heritage malt and combines it with Highland peated malt while recipe two uses traditional Pot Still malt in conjunction with two specialty malts; Cara and Chocolate.

Holyrood Distillery, which opened in 2019, was founded by Canadian couple,  Rob and Kelly Carpenter and Scot, David Robertson with a vision to create a new kind of distillery, one that would reflect the dynamism and diversity of present-day Edinburgh. The brand portfolio now includes multi-award winning gin and rum ranges, a collection of new make spirits, and – since October 2023 – its inaugural single malt, Arrival, one of the first single malt whiskies produced in Edinburgh in a century.

Earlier this month Holyrood Distillery won Gold for Embra and Silver for Elizabeth Yard Sherry Cask at the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC), the world’s largest spirits awards.
