Spirit of Speyside Festival 25th anniversary celebrations continue with the launch of tickets for Distilled, the two-day annual spirits event in September which is being held for the final time at Elgin Town Hall before it undergoes a major refurbishment.  As the name suggests it will showcase more than whisky, with rum, gin, vodka, cocktails and craft beers as well as food from Speyside’s larder all taking centre stage over the 2 day event.

With Speyside home to 51 distilleries, the Sampling Hall will play host to over 20 stands where visitors can enjoy a dram and speak to some of the biggest players in the industry.  Distilleries and blenders taking part include Glenfiddich, The Glenlivet, Balvenie, The GlenAllachie, Gordon & MacPhail, Cardhu, Strathisla, Murray McDavid and Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky.  For those who love a gin, Caorrunn, Gordon Castle and Red Door gins will also be pouring samples.

The Tap Room will be offering a range of Speyside craft beers and Connoisseur Masterclasses will feature Gordon & MacPhail, Speyburn, Chivas Brothers, Glenfiddich and Cardhu, who celebrate their 200th anniversary this year.

Chairman of Spirit of Speyside, George McNeil said, “Our 25th anniversary continues where we showcase the very best of the region’s food and drink scene in one venue.  Following record ticket sales for the Festival in May, this is now a chance for us to profile some of the globally renowned distilleries alongside hand-crafted companies creating small-batch products where together, they show the diversity of Speyside produce.”

The event runs over the 6th and 7th September and is being sponsored by Howdens.
