Whisky producer Whyte & Mackay, has announced a sharp rise in pre-tax profits, up from £81 milion to £96 million, according to its recent report for the year ending 31 December 2023. The company also experienced a significant turnover boost, climbing to £370 million from £321 million in the previous year.
Known for brands such as The Dalmore, Jura, Fettercairn and Tamnavulin Single Malt whiskies, Glayva liqueur and Whyte and Mackay, Claymore and John Barr blended Scotch whiskies, the Company also distributed Harvey’s Bristol Cream Sherry under a distribution agreement with Bodegas Fundador.
With distilleries, production and distribution centres across Scotland, Whyte & Mackay attributed the strong financial results to the continued growth of its core brands. Dalmore, in particular, was highlighted as a standout performer, supported by strategic marketing efforts.
Chief Executive Bryan Donaghey noted that Dalmore’s robust performance was enhanced by increased production levels and effective management of supply chain costs, both of which contributed to the company’s improved operational efficiency.
The firm’s total assets now exceed £1 billion with liabilities reported at just under £244 million.
