Scottish hospitality talent took the spotlight last night at HIT Scotland’s annual Industry Dinner, as two standout professionals were recognised with industry awards. The 2025 event, which brought together leading figures from across the industry for an evening that celebrated the strength and vibrancy of Scotland’s hospitality scene, concluded with the presentation of two major awards — the HIT Industry Award and the Future Leader Award.

This year’s HIT Industry Award was presented to Calum Ross, General Manager of The Hilton Glasgow (main picture), in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the sector and his commitment to high standards across the board.

With more than four decades of experience, including senior roles with Stakis, Jarvis and Hilton Hotels, Calum has overseen several Hilton properties across the UK and Ireland, helping to embed the brand’s Operational Excellence strategy while leading teams with a hands-on approach.

A long-time supporter of HIT Scotland, Calum took part in the 2011 Kilimanjaro Challenge, which raised £150,000 to fund scholarships that continue to change lives across the industry.

Known for his down-to-earth leadership style and strong mentorship, Calum is widely regarded as a role model within the profession.

Glenn recently completed the HIT the Hebrides Challenge, adding to a number of other successful fundraising efforts for the Futures Group. The judging panel praised Glenn for his exceptional drive, energy and dedication to the HIT Scotland Futures Group, a networking community designed to support and connect young professionals in the sector.

David Cochrane, Chief Executive of HIT Scotland, said, “The HIT Industry Award and Future Leader Award represent the pinnacle of this success, recognising the industry’s most dedicated and impressive professionals.

“We were overwhelmed by the number and quality of nominations this year, which is a testament to the commitment and professionalism of those working in Scotland’s hospitality sector.

“It was not an easy decision, however, Calum and Glenn stood out for their willingness to go above and beyond to raise the standards for the hospitality industry. They are worthy winners, displaying all of the positive traits that make our industry so special. Congratulations again to our 2025 winners!”

Held each June at Glasgow’s Hilton Hotel, the Industry Dinner is a cornerstone of Scotland’s hospitality calendar. It also plays a crucial role in raising funds for HIT Scotland’s scholarship and bursary programmes, which support the development of emerging talent in the sector.
