Hospitality Health, the Scottish charity focused on supporting health and wellbeing in the hospitality and tourism sector, has awarded its Wellness Charter to Flight Club Edinburgh.

The charity aims to shift how the industry views mental health and encourages open conversations within the workplace. It believes that helping employers understand and manage stress is a key step towards creating a more supportive working environment.

Founded more than six years ago, Hospitality Health has recognised a number of organisations through its charter. Flight Club Edinburgh is the latest recipient.

Phoebe Askham, Sales & Events Manager of Flight Club Edinburgh commented, “We are extremely delighted to be awarded the charter from Hospitality Health. We have been working hard to keep the wellbeing of our team at the forefront, this confirms the great work we have been doing.”

“Gordon and the team at Hospitality Health are so passionate about helping those that work in the industry by providing invaluable information to anyone that may be facing work or personal worries. We have communicated the Hospitality Health website to all our team, and will continue to remind them that there is a wider support network of like-minded professionals who they can connect with should they wish. This is a fantastic charity that is current and definitely needed in an industry that whilst is very rewarding can be very tough!”

Founder Gordon McIntyre said, “What we are trying to achieve with Hospitality Health is to equip our industry with the right tools and mental health first aid certificate training to not only address mental health but to put staff welfare first.  We launched Hospitality Health in Glasgow over 6 years ago with 100 operators in attendance and we have grown considerably, with a real need for mental health support.”
