Bonnie & Wild is expanding its food and drink offer in August with a new açai bowl kitchen, a month-long cider pop-up, and the return of its free Fringe ceilidh event.
Launching on this week, Bowl Out at Bonnie & Wild becomes the 14th food outlet in the Edinburgh food hall. The new kitchen, which offers a range of açai-based dishes including açai berry sorbet bowls and overnight oats, joins existing operators such as Gary Maclean’s Creel Caught and El Perro Negro, winner of the UK’s best burger, and will expand the venue’s breakfast, lunch, dessert and takeaway offer.
Also launching this week is a pop-up bar from Thistly Cross Cider, which takes over one of Bonnie & Wild’s bars. The cider maker will serve a range of its core ciders, cider-infused cocktails and a brand-new cider – the company’s first in several years. Chefs across Bonnie & Wild’s kitchens will also be creating cider-inspired menu specials to coincide with the bar residency.
Peter Stuart, founder of Thistly Cross, said, “Bonnie & Wild is all about great food and drink with a bit of flair, which makes it the perfect spot for a Thistly takeover. We’re so excited to bring our full cider line-up, some cracking cocktails, and a brand new cider we are dying to share.”
Bonnie & Wild’s free Fringe ceilidh returns too this week, with organisers expecting hundreds of dancers for the event hosted by the White Heather Club. Since launching at Bonnie & Wild in August 2022, the White Heather Club’s monthly ceilidhs have attracted more than 15,000 dancers and the upcoming Fringe edition marks the third anniversary of the ceilidhs.
