Independent bottler One Cask at a Time has launched its inaugural range, a collection of six single cask malt whiskies released at cask strength, combining traditional whisky-making with modern digital technology.
Each bottle in the debut series is equipped with a contactless icon on the neck, allowing owners to unlock detailed tasting notes, cask histories, and verification information via smartphone. The feature, named the Bottle Passport, also enables collectors to track and manage their own tasting notes and personal library of whiskies.
“We’re here to add something new to the world of whisky for the next generation,” said Russell Bradley, Head of Brand Development. “The contactless icon on the bottle neck allows owners to instantly verify the authenticity of their purchase, but it also connects them to a deeper experience—learning about every aspect of the bottle and the liquid it contains.”
The six bottlings are divided across three series, the Chronograph, Pendulum, and Grandfather, and are designed to appeal to a range of whisky lovers, from those new to cask-strength drams to seasoned experts. The Grandfather Series featuring Highland Park 27YO and Aultmore 33YO IWSC Silver Medallists and Ledaig 1993, the Pendulum features Auchentoshan 1998 and Chronograph has Ben Nevis 2012 and Glentauchers 2009.
“Only casks of exceptional quality have been chosen for bottling under the One Cask at a Time label,” said Bradley. “Each cask has been hand-selected for its unique qualities—bottling a moment in time to share with the world.”
