The Law in North Berwick has reopened under new management after an £850,000 refurbishment, bringing the well-known venue back into use for the first time in six years.
Formerly known as The County Hotel, the venue on the High Street has been taken on by Discovery Group, who also operate the nearby Ship Inn. The investment, backed by Star Pubs & Bars, marks Star’s largest project in Scotland this year and has been described as one of their most extensive refurbishments to date.
Named after the iconic North Berwick hill, The Law has been fully refurbished to create a family and dog-friendly venue with two separate bars, a restaurant, 11 ensuite letting rooms and one of the largest beer gardens in the town.
Donna McCallum, the new general manager, said, “I’ve lived in North Berwick for years and never dreamed one day I would run The Law. It’s great news for the town to have it open again and looking so fantastic – it’s a real asset. The whole team is excited to be welcoming people in for the first time in six years.”
