An Edinburgh venue has reopened following a major refurbishment. CC Blooms, located on Greenside Place, temporarily closed earlier this year to undergo a full renovation aimed at updating the space and improving the customer experience.
Following a £230K investment the pub has now reopened with a refreshed interior, featuring a redesigned bar area and new décor. Customers have been impressed saying on social media, “Looks fabulous, well done everyone,” another added, “Looks incredible. Well done Team CC’s!”
The investment in CC Blooms was undertaken by Heineken-owned Star Pubs and licensees and husbands Mitch Stark and Tim Douglas, who have run the well-known venue since 2008.
The goal was to update the layout to meet changing customer trends to ensure the venue continued to thrive yet preserve its identity as one of Edinburgh’s most recognisable LGBTQIA+ bars.
The refurbishment included an exterior repaint and modern design updates inside such as velvet covered velvet-covered banquette seating, a herringbone wood floor as well as marble-topped tables, glazed wall tiles, and a striking arched back bar. The exposed stone pillars and archways from the building’s original 18th-century façade, a treasured feature of the current bar, continue to have pride of place.
