Scotland-based hospitality supply business Hinba Coffee Roasters, which was founded in Oban, has appointed Tom Lonergan to the newly created role of Head of Wholesale, as the company strengthens its presence across the country’s café, restaurant and corporate sectors.
The appointment marks a key strategic step for the business, which is owned by Fergus McCoss and produces high-quality, small-batch coffees roasted on the west coast of Scotland, as it continues to expand its footprint within the Scottish hospitality trade.
In his new role, Lonergan will lead the growth of Hinba’s wholesale coffee supply, targeting cafés, restaurants, retailers, offices and leisure venues across Scotland. Recent additions to the client base include The Palais Bar on Duke Street in Glasgow, with existing customers including Skinny Coffee in Uddingston, the Kilchrennan Inn near Oban, The Wee Happy Health Club, and Balvicar Stores, both based in Oban.

“There is huge potential in the wholesale market right now. Even though there’s a lot of competition, many of the bigger brands are more expensive and far less fast on their feet than Hinba.
“Our beans are of such high quality, and we’re small enough to react quickly to changing customer demands – we can offer something the market is crying out for.”
Fergus McCoss, owner of Hinba Coffee Roasters and the wider Hinba Group, said: “We’re exceptionally quick to adapt to what customers want, and with Tom driving wholesale, I’m confident we’ll grow quickly and get our Ziques Blend into the hands of many more people across Scotland.”
McCoss, who also owns Ziques restaurant on Dumbarton Road in Glasgow, recently relaunched the venue with a new Spanish-inspired sharing plates menu. He believes the company’s expanding wholesale operation supports Hinba’s mission to elevate everyday coffee experiences throughout Scotland.
