Mitchells & Butlers casual dining brand Browns Brasserie & Bar has reopened its Glasgow site following an extensive refurbishment.

Based in the 130-year-old former Post Office building on George Square, the two-storey Grade A listed venue has been remodelled as part of Browns’ wider strategy to invest in and upgrade its existing estate.

Changes have also been made to the lower ground floor, which has been converted into a semi-private dining space with its own bar and capacity for 50 covers. The outdoor terrace has also been updated. Browns said the investment was intended to strengthen the site’s premium all-day dining offer while preserving the character of the historic property.

Dave Lewis, Operations Director, said, “Browns Glasgow is a key city site for us. The investment has given us new interiors that properly reflect the brand’s elevated premium all-day dining positioning. We have taken great care to preserve the character and architectural heritage of the building, while adapting the space to meet the needs of our guests.”

Browns operates 28 restaurants across the UK, including sites in London, Bath, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
