Chris Houlton has joined Greene King as Managing Director Brewing and Brands, a role previously held by Euan Venters, who stepped down last month.
Chris, formerly Sales and Distribution Director at Carlsberg UK, now takes on the responsibility for Belhaven in Scotland. He will split his time between Scotland and England, and he told DRAM that he plans to get out and about as much as possible to meet the trade.
In one of his first roles as the brewery’s new boss, he joined colleagues for the recent Royal visit by Princess Anne, who visited the Dunbar brewery last week to officially open Belhaven’s new brew house. It was her second visit to the brewery, having first visited in 1988. Belhaven Brewery Director, George Howell, escorted the Princess around the brewery, and she spent time talking to employees and guests.
