Scottish firm MSHB grows legal licensing team

MSHB OFFICIAL final

Scottish legal practice Miller Samuel Hill Brown (MSHB) is to create one of the largest legal licensing teams in Scotland following its acquisition of the licensing division of city solicitors, Lindsays.

Hill Brown Licensing, MSHB’s specialist division, has now grown to a team of 12 who will represent an increased licensed trade client base from the firm’s Glasgow and Edinburgh offices.

Peter Lawson, Partner at Hill Brown Licensing, said, “By adding to our department, we have greatly strengthened our offering thus ensuring we continue to deliver an exceptional service to our licensed trade clients while supporting our future growth ambitions.”

Audrey Junner, Partner at Hill Brown Licensing, added, “We look forward to developing strong business relationships with all concerned and anticipate a smooth transition for both clients and team members alike.”

The move follows a strategic decision by Lindsays to focus on their other key specialisms.

Alasdair Cummings, Managing Partner at Lindsays, said, “We have enjoyed a close working relationship with the team from Hill Brown Licensing for many years. There are many similarities between our Legal 500 Tier 1 Licensing practices – they share a similar culture and approach to client management as well as being long established professionals who are greatly respected in the market.”

MSHB was incorporated in February 2016 after the merger of Glasgow law firms Hill Brown and Miller Samuel to create one of the city’s largest independent legal practices.
