Diageo Reserve brings its search for the World Class GB Bartender of the Year to Scotland this month when its first educational UK tour rolls into Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Designed to prepare prospective competition entrants, the roadshows will be held in Glasgow at The Corinthian on 21 November and in Edinburgh’s Voodoo Rooms on 22 November.
Ten roadshow sessions in total will run across the UK with 50 spaces available for each.
They will be hosted by the Diageo Reserve Brand Ambassador team and will focus on what it takes to become a World Class bartender, with training sessions such as The Art of Blending.
The World Class bartending competition is now in its ninth year. The 2017 competition is open from today and will close on 15th February 2017, before the judges review entries and commence the in-bar judging phase, from which the semi-finalists are selected.
The winner will go on to represent Great Britain at the global final in Mexico next year.
Dan Dove, Head of Diageo Reserve World Class, said, “Bartenders are at the heart of Diageo Reserve World Class, so taking the time to educate and support them ahead of the competition is crucial.
“This year’s Diageo Reserve Future Trends Report will be central to our training sessions, learning and predicting the evolving ways in which consumers are interacting with cocktails and drinking experiences.”
Last year’s GB World Class winner was Aidan Bowie of the Dandelyan bar in London (pictured above).
