Greene King and Coca-Cola reward designated drivers

Top UK pub operator Greene King has joined forces with Coca-Cola to treat the UK’s designated drink drivers with a free soft drink over the festive period.

More than 1,000 Greene King pubs across the UK are taking part in the annual Christmas anti-drink drive campaign.

All drivers who order a main meal in pubs across the UK, including Hungry Horse, Fayre & Square and Greene King Local Pubs will be offered a free soft drink.

Rooney Anand, CEO for Greene King, said,”Thanks to tougher laws, safety improvements and education we have seen death rates caused by drink driving reduced by more than a quarter, and promotions such as our designated driver campaign can also have a positive impact on our customers’ attitude to drink driving.

“We pride ourselves on being a responsible retailer, not only during the festive season with the free soft drink promotion, but throughout the year with our Enjoy Responsibly programme.”

Drinks included in the offer are 330ml glass bottle of Coca-Cola, Diet Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero, 275ml Appletiser and bottled water.
